Payment Policy

This policy explains how payments are made, when fees apply, and what rules govern financial transactions on the platform.

1. Payment Through the Platform

All payments for shipments must be processed through the My Animal Transport platform. Off-platform payments (cash, direct bank transfers, personal payment apps, etc.) are not allowed. These transactions are not covered by our protections and may result in suspension of your account. This ensures that both shippers and drivers are protected by our policies and that records are available in the event of a dispute.

2. Booking Fee

Shippers pay a non-refundable booking fee at the time of reserving a driver. The booking fee covers platform services such as customer support, driver verification, and secure communication. The booking fee is separate from the payment owed to the driver. For details on refunds of the booking fee, please see the Refund Policy.

3. Driver Payments

Drivers set their own transport fees, which are agreed upon during the booking process. Once a shipment is successfully completed, payment is released to the driver. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their payout information is accurate and up to date in the app. Drivers are independent contractors and are responsible for reporting and paying any taxes associated with income earned through the platform.

4. Cancellation and Payment Adjustments

If a shipment is canceled by the shipper, cancellation fees may be owed to the driver depending on the timing of the cancellation. See the Canceled Shipments Policy for details. If a shipment is canceled due to a driver's failure to complete the transport, shippers may be eligible for a refund of the booking fee and/or a rebooking option.

5. Disputed Payments

If there is a disagreement over payment, either party may contact My Animal Transport support to initiate a dispute review. Both shippers and drivers must provide supporting evidence such as communication logs, receipts, or proof of delivery. The support team will review all available evidence and make a final decision regarding refunds, payouts, or penalties.

6. Prohibited Transactions

The following are strictly prohibited and may result in suspension or permanent account removal: - Requesting or accepting payment outside of the platform. - Charging hidden or additional fees not agreed to during booking. - Refusing to deliver an animal after payment has been made through the platform.

7. Transparency and Security

All transactions are logged through the platform for transparency and accountability. Secure payment providers are used to process credit card and other electronic payments. Neither drivers nor shippers should exchange bank account information directly.
